So, what can you get up to in this fun part of the world? What awaits you and your family for rural entertainment?

Egg Trails

As we head into the spring, Easter is just around the corner. For this reason many people take part in Easter themed events, such as an egg trail. From 25th March, you’ll find that an egg hunt is being held. This is the perfect way for you and the kids to have some fun and take part in a unique, challenging event that will bring everyone together.

These egg trails will last for a large period of the month so make sure you find the time to take part in at least one! You will find more information here.

The Cliff Railway

Take a run on the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway and you can get both stunning views and an appreciation of how steep this is. It is a lot of fun and will ensure you get a fine appreciation for the area as much as anything else. Well worth taking kids on, too.

Valley of the Rocks

A great place to come and visit during this time of year is the Valley of the Rocks. With the Lorna Doone countryside emitting around you, you can feel as if you are stepping into another country entirely. The detail and the stunning nature of the local area, with minimal human input, gives you a true appreciation of the beauty that Exmoor does a wonderful job of capturing.

Dunster Castle

For a bit of sightseeing you should come to the castle. Not only can you see stunning architecture up close but you can tour the whole thing, and get to see amazing views of the world around you from up at the top. This is one of the most iconic views in the entire Exmoor area, so be sure to check it out!

This is a great way to empower yourself to really enjoy the nature of Exmoor in all of its glory. The region itself comes alive in various ways when you go to just view the countryside, combining that rustic English feel with something that is deeply welcoming and thus coming here, alone or with family, is fabulous fun!
