Welcome to The Exmoor White Horse Inn
January 2011 Newsletter if you are unable to view this newsletter please click here

As we move into a new year, a great deal of uncertainty hangs over us all. Not knowing how things are going to turn out, especially as the Government cutbacks are going to effect all of us, with the immediate increase in VAT and the uncertainty of ones’ position at work, these are just a few of the things that are going to impact on our decision making throughout 2011.

Looking on the bright side, here at The Exmoor White Horse Inn we are fully aware of these issues, and our aim is to address these by offering you, our loyal customers,  some amazing deals throughout the year.  We are no different from you when it comes to needing a break, what's the point of just working, then stressing and getting all worked up! As someone once said "you only live once".  So our motto is, “we're in this mess together, through no fault of our own”, so we have decided to have a “post New Year break “ ourselves this year and enjoy it whilst we can, and like you, we're out there looking for some good offers.  Most of you would have received our Christmas card promoting our 2+1 and 3+2 Offers, which are both great deals offering outstanding value. Our Weekly Half Board tariff is also great value, ideal for those who have a long way to travel, along with our Late Availability Offers that can be found on our Website, ideal for those who can't make a decision until the last minute.

We know this year is going to be tough for us all, nevertheless we are going to be positive rather than negative throughout 2011.

Warmest Regards,

Peter & Linda Hendrie

Tracks in the snow

robin-in-snowSherryl Woods is a keen bird-watcher and has very kindly written an article for our blog. With less daylight hours for small birds especially to feed up before the long cold night our help is invaluable.  Bird feed can be expensive and a cheaper alternative to fat balls can be a block of lard melted and poured over kitchen scraps in a foil tray.

Clay Pigeon Shooting
exmoor-clay-pigeon

Clay pigeon shooting is the shooting of clay targets with a shotgun or other type of firearm. The ‘pigeon’ in its name comes from when live pigeons were shot instead of the clay targets that we use today before 1921, when it was made illegal to take part in pigeon shooting competitions in the UK. It has become a popular sport on Exmoor.
